Wayne Liwingu McGinness

Turtles and Lilypad

OPENING THURSDAY 21ST MARCH FROM 6 TO 8PM

Please join us to welcome Wayne Liwingu McGinness and his edgy stainless steel sculptural works.  Wayne enjoyed a sell out show at UMI Arts in Cairns last year with Steel Jidju and this will be his first Sydney exhibition.  Wayne is of paperbark, rainforest and Torres Strait Island Heritage and lives in Kuranda in Queensland.

Mixing it up, we are also displaying clay Bagu figures from NE Queensland, stunning fibre works from Arnhemland and Elcho Island, town camp soft sculptures from Larapinta, and ghost net soft sculptures from Grooyt Island.

And in the true sense of 3D, there will be  people in wearable art moving about the gallery, courtesy of Mondo Rondo’s new clothing range featuring the artwork of Warlukurlangu Community art centre!
