We are enjoying the Gijalordi Print collection from the Girringun Community in Queensland (near Cardwell).   The framed prints are a travelling show which was exhibited at Kick Arts in Cairns and which will be shown elsewhere in Australia before travelling to Canada.   The community was assisted by both the Federal and Qld Government and various sponsors with the creation of the prints to help them recover from Cyclone Yasi.   Each tells a part of the story about how the Kingfisher created the river and the collection comprises a charming range of creatures involved in this traditional story.   Stunning examples of fine print making by Editions Tremblay (with an edition size of 20 in the main), they are figurative, light and very refreshing.
