This graceful and elegant bag was created by Doreen Linkinjwang from Maningrida and it has been displayed in the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney in the Love Lace exhibition from 30th July 2011 through to October 2013, which was extended due to its popularity.  The exhibition included hundreds of artists from all over the world.  “Doreen Linkinjwang has created fibre works using traditional north-west Arnhem Land weaving techniques for more than four decades”.  You can also see Mavis Ganambarr’s Lampshade (Elcho Island) and Annibell Marrnamarrnga’s Yawk Yawk (Maningrida – this YY work was purchased by the Museum) – we have several pieces by both of these artists here at Tali Gallery too.  Contact us if they’re of interest as they’re not yet on our website.
