9 Waringarri Artists’ from the Kimberley worked together on a Bush Medicine Mural which is a finalist work in the 2013 Sir John Sulman Art Prize at the Art Gallery of NSW.   It is held alongside the Archibald and Wynne Art Prizes and will be judged this Friday, 22nd March.   Two of the artists who contributed to the mural are Kittey Malarvie and Phyllis Ningamara whose work is currently hung at Tali Gallery.   This featured painting is by Phyllis and depicts the water lily bulb which is a delicious food – the stem  has important medicinal properties.  We have a painting by Agnes Armstrong and prints by Peggy Griffiths who also contributed to the mural.
